Why do Reddit posts get removed immediately?

If your post gets nuked seconds after you hit Post, I’d suspect an automated filter first. That doesn’t mean you’re banned or that some mod is sitting there deleting your stuff.

If it’s just one sub, double-check the rules. Some have pretty specific rules about verification, titles, flair, account age, or comment karma. And yep, some SFW subs filter accounts that promote adult content, even when the post itself is totally SFW.

Next, look for an AutoMod reply or removal notice. “Removed by Reddit’s filters” could be a spam or reputation check, not necessarily something wrong with the post. Sometimes it’s just stuck waiting for mod approval. If you can’t figure out why, shoot the mods a quick message with the post link. Don’t keep deleting and reposting the same thing - that can backfire.

If it’s happening in a bunch of subs, I’d look at the account itself. Posting the same pic with copy-paste captions everywhere can look spammy. Reddit also looks at account reputation, not just karma - even older accounts can get caught.

If your history is mostly promos, slow down a bit and spend some time actually interacting with people. There’s no magic fix, but it’s better than trying to force more posts through.

If other people can’t see your comments or profile either, check Reddit’s appeals page.

Anyone else been through this? What turned out to be the problem, and what actually fixed it?
